$178K Saved As Top Centennial Adminstrator Post Eliminated
Centennial Schools Superintendent Dana Bedden has announced numerous changes due to a "challenging period" for the district.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA —The Centennial School District is saving $178,141 by having fewer top administrative jobs and positions overall, its superintendent said.
Schools Superintendent Dana Bedden notified Centennial faculty and staff about changes for the 2024-2025 school year, which began for students on Wednesday.
Bedden said that "money matters during this challenging period" and that the district was not creating new jobs for the new school year.

The superintendent said that some jobs/positions will have new names or different duties and several people will have more responsibilities.

The district has eliminated the Assistant to the Superintendent for Schools and Student Services job/position, the superintendent said.
Administrative changes for the new year include:
- The Superintendent's office will now directly oversee the Office of Safety and Security.
- Anthony Gabriele now serves as the Assistant to the Superintendent for Academics and Student Services with additional responsibilities.
- Brian Wilson now serves as the Assistant to the Superintendent for Administration with additional responsibilities.
- Kristin Herman will have a new job as Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning, overseeing technology.
- Althea Tomlison will now serve as the new Supervisor of Teaching and Learning, overseeing English Language Development, Inclusive Practices, Registration & Child Accounting, Federal Programs, Social Emotional and Academic Learning (SEAL), and Translation Services.
- Rose Miele will be shifting her role from Coordinator of Teaching and Learning (Elementary Education & K-12 Assessment) to Coordinator of Teaching and Learning (K-12 ).
- Michelle Busseti has been promoted to serve as the new Registration/Child Accounting Specialist.
- Yulia Portman, Supervisor of Human Resources, will expand her duties with more oversight of the Human Resources department.
- Jim Wertman is transitioning from the Director of Facilities to the Director of Operations, expanding his duties to supervise the transportation department and facilities.
New to the CSD Team (filling vacant positions):
- CSD will have a new Director of Student Services overseeing special education and other student services department members.
- Special Education will now have three supervisors: Amy Diaczenko, who will be joining Geana Germana on the team in October, and the other position, which is TBD.
- Moira Murphy will join CSD as the new Coordinator of Student Services with a focus on Multitiered System of Support (MTSS) and K-12 Assessments (expanded responsibilities).
- Anand Singh joins CSD as the new Data, Assessment, and PIMS (PA Information Management System) Specialist (expanded duties).
- Vera Plakunova will be serving as the new Manager of Accounting.
Pay Changes
- Some jobs will get pay raises because of more responsibilities.
- We're trying to make hiring and keeping good staff easier while remaining competitive and cost-efficient.
"It's been hard to fill some jobs because of market conditions," Bedden said. "We're trying to make things fairer for everyone. We hope to hire and keep good staff in a more efficient manner. We're continuing to focus on helping our students become their best, supporting teaching and learning, and ensuring everything runs smoothly."
