WARMINSTER, PA —Residents will now have five full-time firefighters to serve the township.

The Warminster Township Fire Department has announced that two more full-time firefighters joined the ranks on Monday and will be sworn in at Thursday night's Board of Supervisors meeting.

Fire officials said the additions come from the "tireless effort" of the leadership of the Warminster Fire Department and Hartsville Fire Company, state officials, township supervisors and the township's administration, and the Fire Marshall's Office.

In September 2018, Warminster Fire Department and Hartsville Fire Company leadership joined township officials to evaluate the state of our fire service. Following months of analysis, a consulting firm presented its findings at the June 2019 Warminster Township Board of Supervisors meeting.

The study affirmed that the township benefits from two highly skilled agencies with top-notch facilities and equipment.

Both fire companies maintain financial stability and a strong partnership. Despite these strengths, the consulting firm identified four areas suggesting the need for Warminster Township to consider integrating career staff alongside volunteers.

In October 2023, to address these critical daytime shortages, the township welcomed its first three career firefighters.

The five full-time firefighters will serve Monday through Friday, bolstering operations for both township fire departments.

From life safety inspections to public education and incident response, they will be on the front line daily.

"The collaboration between Warminster Fire Department and Hartsville Fire Company remains exceptional. Together, we train tirelessly and work together every week, united in our common mission of community safety," fire officials said. "We share a common focus: life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation. Together the WFD, HFC, and career personnel are strong, driven by a shared dedication to service and we will continue to safeguard our community with professionalism and unwavering commitment."
