2 Police Officers Promoted In Warminster

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — Two Warminster Township police officers are moving up the ranks.

At the recent Warminster Township Board of Supervisors meeting, Police Chief James Donnelly III said that Corporal Chad Vargo was promoted to sergeant, while Police Officer Meghan Wheatley has been promoted to corporal, where she will assist with C Squad.

The two were sworn in by District Justice Christoper E. O’Neill at the supervisors' Feb. 5 meeting, as their families looked on during the ceremony.

“Both have demonstrated exceptional commitment to our department and the Warminster community. Their professionalism, leadership, and dedication to public safety make them well-deserving of these advancements. I have full confidence they will continue to excel in their new roles," the police chief said.

Vargo attended West Chester University before joining the police department in July 2009. He served as a police officer with the Coatesville and South Heidelberg Township police departments.

During his tenure in Warminster, Vargo worked as a Central Bucks Special Response Team crime scene investigator, a CPR and first aid instructor, and a firearms instructor.

Vargo is also a member of the Bucks County Major Incident Response Team. He is married with two children.

Wheatley grew up in Springfield and attended Springfield Township High School. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a minor in political science.

She attended Montgomery County Community College Police Academy and was then hired by the Warminster Police Department in August 2019.

Wheatley is a field training officer and Defensive Tactics instructor, and recently completed her first class in the trilogy of the FBI-LEEDA Supervisory Leadership Institute in Bucks County.
