$246K Grant Secured For Ivyland Park Upgrades

State Rep. Brian Munroe has secured the grant for major improvements to Edwin Oldroyd Memorial Park.

IVYLAND BOROUGH, PA — The borough has received a state grant of $246,759 for improvements to Edwin Oldroyd Memorial Park.

State Rep. Brian Munroe presented the check for the grant for accessibility projects and major improvements to the borough park.

The grant was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority and funded through the Local Share Account program, which is supported by the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act.

Projects funded by the grant include a safe crosswalk across Jacksonville Road at Willard Avenue, as well as enhancements to Edwin Oldroyd Memorial Park.

Those park enhancements include an ADA-compliant ramp, a new sidewalk connecting the park to Ivyland Commons Park, and the installation of trash receptacles, benches, and landscaping plantings.

“I was more than happy to assist the borough council in advocating for this grant,” Munroe said. “Their tireless dedication to this tightly knit community is truly commendable, and Ivyland residents of all ages will surely enjoy the improvements to the park.”

Ivyland Borough Council President Sal DiPaolo said officials were delighted to receive grant funding to keep "our small community growing and improving.”
