2nd Annual Pawsome Pet Contest Underway In Warminster

The Centennial Education Foundation invites Philly region pet owners to enter their animals in a contest that supports local school grants.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — The Centennial Education Foundation has launched its second annual Pawsome Pet Contest, a community-driven fundraiser supporting local schools. Pet owners in the Greater Philadelphia area are invited to create free entries for their pets.

The contest kicked off on Feb. 6. Open voting will begin on March 2 and will progress into a bracket voting format. Friends, family, and neighbors can cast votes via donations, organizers said.

"When we held our first competition in 2024, it generated a lot of buzz, and our supporters loved showing off their pets," said Max Weintraub, president of the Centennial Education Foundation. "We’re excited to bring Pawsome Pets back and once again put the spotlight on our furry friends — all while supporting our students."

Funds raised from the contest will directly support grants for teachers in the Centennial School District.

These grants boost unique learning programs not funded by tax dollars. An example from last year involved 7th and 8th-grade STEM students at Klinger Middle School building and racing steam-powered boats.

"The first contest that we ran featured over 600 beloved pets — each one was adorable and clearly very loved by their owners. It was incredible to see the community support our fundraising mission," Executive Director Jennifer Schultz.

The top 15 pets receiving the most votes by April 20 will be featured on a 15-month printed calendar.

The calendar will run from October 2026 through December 2027.

The top three pets will also receive prize packs, organizers said.

New this year, student photographers from William Tennent High School will take the calendar photos for the winning pets. This provides students with real-world creative experience.

Contest sponsors include Wegmans, Hellerick’s Adventure Farm, Otherworld Philadelphia, and Barkbox.
