5 Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Bucks County
Check out George Washington or see Santa or go to one Bucks County event and meet both.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —While Santa Claus rules the roost during December, George Washington will be getting his fair share of attention this weekend.
On Sunday, there will be the famous crossing of the Delaware River by Gen. George and company on the New Jersey end. Meanwhile, the historic Summerseat in Morrisville —Washington's home for a little while —will honor the 247th anniversary of his arrival there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with colonial re-enactors, house tours, Christmas music, colonial crafts, and pictures with George and Santa.
As we near Christmas, another holiday has begun. And that's Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. Sesame Place in Middletown Township is holding festivities for the holiday this weekend while Yardley will hold a Menorah lighting on Sunday.

Bensalem offers a double whammy: a holiday tree lighting and Santa passing by on Saturday night.

A Secret Santa Crafts Fair takes place Saturday in Upper Southampton Township along with Saturday with Santa in Northampton Township. Historic Fallsington is also holding its annual tree lighting on Sunday night.
For wine lovers, wineries along the Bucks County Wine Trail are holding a holiday celebration this weekend.

Santa Drive-Through, Christmas Tree Lighting Set In Bensalem For Saturday
It's that time for Saint Nick to make his annual stop in time for Bensalem Township's tree lighting. Santa Claus will make his "big Bensalem wave" in his drive-through visit for this year's Annual Township Tree Lighting with festivities beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Yardley Chanukah Village Celebrates Holiday Sunday
Yardley Borough will celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights on Sunday. The Yardley Chanukah Village is free to all members of the public with the event starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, on Main Street. (Read this Patch story for more details.)

Bucks County Wine Trail Holding Holiday Celebration
The wineries of the Bucks County Wine Trail will hold its annual Holiday Celebration on Saturday and Sunday Dec. 9-10. Guests can experience the wineries decorated for the holidays while enjoying delicious spiced wine tastings, sampling Christmas cookies and artisanal cheeses, and relaxing with the sounds of holiday music.
During the Holiday Celebration, visitors can also get a jump start on holiday shopping with special
discount pricing, wine gift packs, gift baskets and unique wine accessories.
- Aviator Winery, 1333 Elephant Road in Bedminster, will host food trucks during the Holiday Celebration.
- Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery, 2730 Hilltown Pike in Perkasie, will offer hot cocoa, mulled wine, and cookies on Saturday, along with food trucks and live music. Bishop will hold its barn lighting at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday is for sangria, live music, and food truck fare.
- Crossing Vineyards and Winery, 1853 Wrightstown Road in Upper Makefield Township, will host live music, specialty cocktails, including The Grinch and Tipsy Rudolph, as well as hot mulled Apple wine and visits from Santa Claus.

Hanukkah Celebration At Sesame Place This Weekend
Sesame Place Philadelphia will celebrate even more festive fun before the 2023 season ends with all-new entertainment offerings during the park’s annual Hanukkah Celebration and Kwanzaa Celebration.
From Dec. 8-10, guests can celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights at Sesame Place’s 5th annual Hanukkah Celebration, featuring a special Menorah Lighting Ceremony and sing-along each evening at the Sesame Street Neighborhood hosted by a local cantor, Baby Bear, and more Sesame Street friends.
New highlights of the event at the Middletown Township amusement park include:
- Hanukkah Storytime – Guests can gather in the Sesame Studio Theater for a special Hannukah-themed storytime, followed by the opportunity to meet, take photos with, and give a bear hug to the fuzzy and cuddly Baby Bear. Baby Bear can also be spotted at the Sesame Street Neighborhood for additional Meet & Greet opportunities.
- Hanukkah Activity Station – Throughout the day, guests can visit the Monster Clubhouse to play fun games of dreidel and make their very own Hanukkah crafts.

Experience 'The Rest Of The Story' Of Washington's Famous Crossing This Weekend
On Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the public is invited to join New Jersey State Park historians, the Washington Crossing Park Association, the First Rhode Island Regiment, and other New Jersey-based reenactor groups who will offer the public an opportunity to experience both the crossing and the March to Trenton through the eyes of the men and women who lived it.
