51 Crashes, 11 DUI Arrests In PA State Police Christmas Crackdown

Troop M, which includes Bucks County, also handed out more than 200 speeding tickets during the Christmas traffic enforcement period.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Pennsylvania State Police investigated 51 crashes and made 11 Driving Under the Influence arrests during the Christmas holiday traffic enforcement period in Bucks County and two surrounding counties.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M – Bethlehem —which constitutes Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties —announced the results that concluded on Dec. 26.

The safety initiative P.A.D.E.E.P (Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement Education Program) targeted drivers who aggressively operated their motor vehicle in a manner which was dangerous to members of the public, which included speeding, seat belt violations and child seat belt infractions.

In addition, S.T.E.A.D.D. (Selective Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Drivers) and D.R.E. (Drug Recognition Expert) Troopers specifically focused on apprehending motorists who operated their motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
