In late January, Altomonte's expanded its business operations by opening its Alto Bakery & Caffè.
The new establishment at 560 W. Street Rd. offers authentic Italian grab-and-go baked goods, espresso, and desserts.
It is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed on Sunday.
Altomonte's has served the Warminster community since 1971 when Italian immigrants Mike and Frances Grispino opened their first butcher shop.
Called Mike’s Meat Market, the shop also became known for offering Italian specialties, spices, and products that Mike and Frances imported because they couldn’t find them anywhere in America.
Later, they changed the name of the market to the source of their imports — the town where Mike and Frances grew up —to Altomonte, Italy.
