George D. Bancroft, Jr. Receives CPA Designation

George D. Bancroft, Jr., an accountant with the firm of Michael J. Davis, P.C., recently received his designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). To receive the designation in Pennsylvania, a person must have one of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in accounting
  • A master’s degree and one year of experience in accounting
  • Completed 150 hours of accounting course work and have one year of experience in accounting
  • Pass a comprehensive state exam on a wide range of accounting terms and issues

Bancroft joined the practice in January and brings with him over 15 years of professional experience. He has a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management (MAFM) and his background includes technical writing, construction accounting, banking and tax preparation. Bancroft is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants.
