Ann's Choice Residents Rack up Over 81,000 Volunteer Hours in 2015!
Ann's Choice residents embody the meaning of giving
Warminster, PA - In 2015, more than 800 residents of Ann’s Choice retirement community donated over 81,000 hours of their time to volunteer activities.
To celebrate this outstanding number of hours donated, Ann’s Choice hosted a breakfast for all of its volunteers. Joining the celebration from the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce were president and CEO Dr. Vail P. Garvin and chief marketing officer Brad Sanders.
During the breakfast Dr. Garvin had the opportunity to address the volunteers. “At the Chamber we love to give back to the community. I don’t think there is a better example of giving than you. Eighty-one thousand hours in a year is absolutely incredible.”
Ann’s Choice residents volunteer for a variety of organizations and perform various services throughout the Bucks County area. Residents take time to visit local elementary schools, the Veterans Hospital, Delaware Valley Veterans Home, local churches, the Warminster Library and the Doylestown Hospital.

Resident and volunteer, Jane Neiger explained during the breakfast why she volunteers. “I’ve worked for nonprofits my entire life, and I believe they are a necessity for every community. For me, the missions of nonprofits really hit home, and there is no better feeling than giving to others who are less fortunate.”
Out of more than 800 volunteers, 104 were specifically recognized with gold and silver Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. Of those, 55 resident volunteers received the silver award for volunteering between 250 hours and 499 hours in 2015, while 49 residents received the gold award for volunteering over 500 hours.
