Assistant EMS Director Hired In Warminster

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warminster Township Department of Emergency Management & Services has hired an assistant director.

John Mahon brings a wealth of experience and a deep knowledge of Warminster Township's risks, hazards, population, and community features, officials said.

His background includes 20 years with the Warminster Fire Department, where he served as a chief officer for eight years.

Additionally, Mahon is a member of the Montgomery County Special Operations team, responding to technical rescues across the region — including water, trench, structural collapse, high-angle, and confined space incidents.

In his new role, Mahon will support the Director in all emergency management functions, community risk reduction programs, fire investigations, and the career firefighter program.

“We are fortunate to have someone with John’s firsthand experience and understanding of the challenges our community faces joining our team,” said Joe Velten, the township's director of emergency management and services.

“His ability to draw on years of experience in fire service and specialized emergency response will strengthen our preparedness, our response capabilities, and our ability to work effectively with our public safety partners," Velten said.
