BB Gun At School, Thefts From Vehicles Top Warminster Crimes

WARMINSTER, PA —A BB gun found in a backpack, a burglary, and thefts of items from vehicles were among some of the criminal incidents police reported for the middle and end of April.

The Warminster Township Police Department released its blotter for criminal incidents for the period of April 16 to April 30.

Here are the incidents:

Burglary, Theft, Trespassing, and Related Offenses Arrest —After completing an investigation into a burglary that had occurred at a local apartment complex located on the 100 block of East Street Road, police arrested a 26-year-old Philadelphia man for the alleged crimes. The defendant was arraigned and bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.

Possession of Weapon on School Property Arrest —Police responded previously to an armed subject call at a learning academy located in the township. Upon arrival, police met with staff who advised they found an 18-year-old Philadelphia student in possession of a firearm in his backpack. The alleged weapon was secured by school staff prior to Police arrival. The firearm in question turned out to be a BB gun. The male was charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

Drug Possession and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest —While on patrol, an officer came across a running vehicle at a local convenience store located on W. Street Road with a male asleep in the driver seat. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer observed drug paraphernalia in the man's lap. The 33-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with drug possession (Crystal Meth) and Drug Paraphernalia.

Drug Possession and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest —An officer conducted a traffic stop for expired registration near the intersection of Street Road and Davisville Road. During the stop, the officer noticed what appeared to be a marijuana blunt. The female driver was also found to have a suspended driver’s license. The 39-year-old Abington woman was charged with possession of a small amount, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while their license was suspended, and an expired vehicle registration.

Public Drunkenness —On April 30, around 4:52 a.m., police came across a running vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business on Downey Drive. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer found a male asleep in the driver seat. The 54-year-old Warminster man was found to be intoxicated. The man was cited for Public Drunkenness and released to a friend who responded to the scene to pick him up.

Theft from Vehicle Investigation —On April 20, police took the report of items taken from a vehicle sometime during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked in the area of Tall Oaks Drive and is believed to have been left unlocked. It was reported a purse and its contents were taken from the vehicle. Police are investigating the incident.

Theft from Vehicle Investigation —On April 20, police took the report of items taken from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at Kemper Park approximately from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. that day. The complainant reported that after leaving the park she noticed items missing from her purse and some of her credit cards had been used. Police are investigating the incident.

Theft from Vehicle Investigation —On April 20, police took the report of items taken from a vehicle sometime during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked in the area of Tall Oaks Police are investigating the incident.

Theft of Cash Investigation —On April 21, police took the report of cash taken from a wallet that was briefly left inside a local dining establishment by mistake. Upon retrieving the wallet, the caller noticed cash was missing from it. Police are investigating the incident.

Theft from Vehicle Investigation —On April 21, police took the report of items taken from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at an apartment complex on Newtown Road sometime between April 19 to April 20. The complainant reported he noticed his wallet and its contents were taken from the console. Police are investigating the incident.
