Blue Star Mothers Honored In BuxMont
Four area state representatives recognized May as Blue Star Mothers Month during a ceremony in Warminster on Tuesday.

WARMINSTER, PA —Bucks and Montgomery County legislators recognized the sacrifices made by the mothers of soldiers and sailors deployed in the U.S. Armed Forces during a ceremony Monday morning at the Warminster VFW Post 6493.
State Reps. Brian Munroe, Nancy Guenst, Ben Sanchez, and Melissa Cerrato honored area Blue Star Mothers as May is Blue Star Mothers Month.
A Blue Star Mother is any woman living in the United States who has a son or daughter (or in some cases, stepchildren) in the U.S. Armed Forces, or who has had a son or daughter in the U.S. Armed Forces who was honorably discharged.

“As a Navy veteran, I know the difficulties and uncertainties that my family, and in particular, my mother faced while I was deployed,” Munroe said. “Families serve in their own way as they play an important part of keeping morale high and supporting our soldiers and sailors. Thank you to my mother and all the Blue Star Mothers through Pennsylvania and our nation.”
“Blue Star Mothers show us what it means to support our troops with unwavering love and strength," Guenst, a U.S. Army veteran, said. “Their sacrifice is a reminder of the heart behind our nation's defenders. In their quiet strength, they inspire us all to honor and cherish those who serve, ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten.”

“With May being Military Appreciation Month, it’s only natural to recognize our Blue Star Mothers,” Sanchez said. “This incredible group works not only to support one another during difficult times of sacrifice, but also the military members serving our country. Whether it's sharing empathy to endure long deployments or sending care packages overseas, the dedication of Blue Star Mothers remains a reliable staple of support for our military community.”
“Blue Star Moms’ unwavering support and love for their children in uniform embody the true spirit of American patriotism. Their strength and resilience inspire us all, and I’m honored to extend my heartfelt support to this extraordinary group of women,” Cerrato said. “To recognize their sacrifices and celebrate their dedication to fellow military families, I’m honored to welcome Blue Star Moms from across the commonwealth today and stand proudly beside them in solidarity.”
Munroe represents the 144th Legislative District which includes Warminster, Warrington, Ivyland, and part of New Britain Township in Bucks County.
Cerrato represents the 151st Legislative District. It includes Ambler, and parts of Horsham and
Upper Dublin townships in Montgomery County.
Guenst represents the 152nd Legislative District. It includes Bryn Athyn, Hatboro, Lower and Upper Moreland townships, and part of Abington Township in Montgomery County.
Sanchez represents the 153rd Legislative District. It includes Rockledge and parts of Abington and Upper Dublin townships in Montgomery County.
