Burpee Closes Factory Store
Gardeners can still purchase Burpee-brand seeds in local retail stores as well as online.
Local gardeners will have to find somewhere other than W.Atlee Burpee & Co.'s Factory Store to purchase their gardening needs.
The company has decided to close the Park Avenue store.
Burpee CEO George Ball told PhillyBurbs.com the company had planned to renovate the store this year, but instead decided to close up shop to make room to accommodate its growing catalog, online and wholesale seed business.
