Career Criminal Gets Prison In Warrington Burglary

WARRINGTON, PA — A career criminal will be spending up to a decade in prison after being convicted of burglarizing a garage and stealing a vehicle in Warrington.

Brian D. Gordon, 53, of Norwood in Delaware County, was sentenced Monday to serve 4-10 years in state prison for the 2018 theft. He was convicted in January on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft from a motor vehicle and other charges.

According to court records, Gordon was caught in the act at about 3 a.m. on April 3, 2018. The owner of a home on Crimson Court had come out to check on noises coming from the home's garage.

The homeowner found Gordon dressed in all dark clothing, going through a vehicle parked in the garage. Gordon tried to get away, but was captured by the homeowner and held until police arrived.

Officers found loose change and work gloves in Gordon's possession.

"This defendant did not just steal loose change. He stole a sense of security," said Assistant District Attorney Brittney Kern, who prosecuted the case, which was investigated by Warrington Township Police.

During his sentencing, Judge Diane E. Gibbons noted Gordon's lengthy criminal record, which spans two decades and includes multiple convictions for robberies and other crimes in Montgomery and Delaware counties.

"You have a long history of criminal conduct, from 1996 to 2018 … ," Gibbons said. "You do this for a living."

Gibbons also ordered that Gordon serve a year of probation consecutive to his prison term.
