Centennial Ranked Among Best School Districts In Pennsylvania

Niche, the leading platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools, has just published its 2025 Best Schools rankings.

WARMINSTER, PA — The Centennial School District has been ranked the seventh-best school district in Bucks County and the 139th-best in Pennsylvania in Niche’s 2025 Best Schools and Districts rankings released Monday.

Niche gave the school district an overall letter grade of B+. Grades in specific categories were:

  • Academics - B
  • Diversity - B+
  • Teachers - B-
  • College Prep - B+
  • Clubs & Activities - B+
  • Administration- B

Centennial also ranked 208th for best places to teach in Pennsylvania and 79th for the most diverse school districts in Pennsylvania. The rankings in Bucks for those categories are the 8th best places to teach and the 5th most diverse district.

In the Philadelphia region, Centennial ranks as the 50th-best school district, 55th place to teach, and 49th most diverse district.

Centennial also received a B+ for food, a C+ for sports, and a C+ for resources and facilities.

The Centennial School District enrolls 5,383 students at six schools in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to state test scores, 53 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 72 percent in reading.

"I am pleased to express congratulations to the CSD Team and share that the Centennial School District (CSD) has continued to rise in the annual rankings released by Niche this year, reaching the 7th position, up from below the top 10 in the years before 2021 and up from 9th place in 2024," Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden said.
He offered a few key highlights of Centennial's rankings over the past three years:

  • Overall Grade - The grade rank over the past three years has risen from B- to B (2024) and B+ (current year ranking).
  • State Rank - the state rank over the past three years has risen from 179 to 154 (2024) to 139 (current year ranking).
  • Metro (Philadelphia) Rank - the metro rank over the past three years has risen from 72 to 55 (2024) to 50 (current year ranking)

The Top 10 school districts in Bucks County are:

  1. New Hope-Solebury School District, A+
  2. Council Rock School District, A
  3. Central Bucks School District, A
  4. Pennsbury School District, A
  5. Palisades School District, B+
  6. Neshaminy School District, B+
  7. Centennial School District, B+
  8. Pennridge School District, B
  9. Quakertown Community School District, B
  10. Bensalem Township School District, B

The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also include input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
