competence or incompetence!

I am so concerned about the intelligence of those who are making decisions at our grade schools. Just this past Monday the third graders at McDonald went to the nature center, in this heat they were sent there with no water, no access to get water as for the buildings were closed, no bathrooms, so now the children were using the construction port o potties. I mean come on powers that be over there do we not share at least some sort of intelligence? I believe that there are some children who are in special needs who need access to such facilities, I also heard there was a child getting sick in the port o potty, and what can be done...... NOT A DARN THING! Because the people who were in charge of setting this up will pass the buck to someone else.

Its time for the system to change and for new people to be put into the appropriate positions. I would be more then happy to assume one of those highly paid positions, and no I do not have a degree, but it seems that the ones that do have no common sense!

Is it everyone in those positions, no, its just seems like that's at times.

Another issue at that same school, which mind you our tax dollars have put a beautiful building there for our children, is the fact that there is not a fence around this property. I was there at the school on field day and was appalled first of all by the water run off that smelled, second by the fact that there was no fence! There is a road running off the back of the property which anyone could drive up run up and drag a child away, all the while I'm sure all is saying "O we have adults on the playground" UMM yea you do and they are doing anything but watching. Again I was at the school on field day and walked to the cafeteria to see my grandchild, and also a friend who works at the school, anyway the lunch ladies were so busy chatting to one another they didn't notice that kids were running throwing food and so on, and people these are paid positions! I have found it that when they were not paid it seemed those watching were actually watching.

I have heard so many stories about these lunch aids, not allowing children to go to nurse when they are supposed to each day, not allowing kids to get water in the hottest of weather, and on cold days they huddle together to keep warm, the heck with the kids! And I am sure I am going to ruffle some feathers out there but let me tell you I have seen it with my own eyes!

I have been in the "bosses" position for well over 30 years and the one thing I would tell my employees is work first, and seeing you people at the school are taking care of the most precious of cargo (children) you should be so spot on there should be no complaints.

But the complaints go in one ear and out the other, and again its our children who pay the price.....
