DNA Technology For Crime Use Stressed In Lower Bucks

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —State Sen. Frank Farry will host a press conference to discuss the importance of DNA technology in the Criminal Justice System on Thursday.

The press conference begins at 2 p.m. at The Comic Collection, 83 Bustleton Pike, Feasterville.

The press conference will highlight "the impressive work by the Lower Southampton Police Department" in an investigation of a violent robbery at The Comic Collection in September 2022, where a DNA match led to the charging of two Michigan men 18 months after the crime.

Sen. Farry and State Reps. Tomlinson and Hogan will speak on legislation, SB988 and HB2030 that would expand the number of DNA samples in the criminal justice system by requiring the collection of DNA samples from persons arrested for serious violent or sexual crimes.
