
Chocolate is the new wine! Chocolate has varying levels of flavors, both simple and complex. Join us for a Chocolate Tasting presented by fellow alumnus Rodney Snyder ’84.
For over 23 years, Rodney Snyder ’84 has been researching cacao for Mars, Inc. He has travelled to major cacao growing regions throughout West Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and South Asia. He has roasted every type of cacao and can identify the region where the beans are from by their flavor and aroma. Snyder will join us and shares his expertise on chocolate and the art of Chocolate Tasting.
We will dig into the history of chocolate, review the factors that determine taste (such as the region of origin), explore different blends of beans, and - the best part - taste different types!
