Jr. Sailing Camp (Beginner)

This program will teach the basics of sailing, knowledge of various types of sail boats, terminology, sailing skills, rules of the road, safety, rescues and practical experience handling a boat. It is a requirement that all participants must show proof of swimming proficiency i.e. YMCA, Scout, Fanny Chapman, School District or Red Cross certificate of completion. The staff ratio is 1:8. A practical test will be given at the end with a certificate of completion. Department staff will assist with the camp.  Bring snacks, beverage, sunscreen and secure footwear (no flip flops).
