Flood Watch Issued In Lower Bucks Co.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A flood watch has been issued for Lower Bucks County starting at Noon on Thursday.

The US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly said the warning is expected to last throughout the evening.

The weather service said that heavy rains (2 inches an hour) and numerous thunderstorms are expected to start on Thursday afternoon.

The storms have potential to cause Flash Flooding, Damaging Winds, and Lightning Strikes.

Localized damaging winds may cause tree damage leading to power outages and road closures.

Locally, heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding, especially in urbanized and poor drainage areas, as well as areas that have already experienced excessive rainfall this week.

The National Weather Service said that residents should stay weather aware, especially if outdoors, and ensure they can receive weather alerts, watches, and warnings.

Authorities said to have a plan to seek shelter if a warning is issued and don't drive in flood waters.
