Foundations Presents Educational Workshop on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Columbia University Expert Comes to Bucks County

Foundations Community Partnership, a philanthropic foundation benefiting youth in Bucks County, invites educators, counselors, parents, and mental health professionals to attend a workshop on childhood obsessive-compulsive disorder presented by Columbia University expert Anthony Puliafico, Ph.D. It will take place on Weds., May 3, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Doylestown Health & Wellness Center Auditorium in Warrington, PA.

Anthony Puliafico, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Medical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University and Director of the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders will discuss “Assessment and Treatment of Pediatric Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.” This enlightening presentation will provide an overview of pediatric obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), including its presentation and current assessment and treatment guidelines. The workshop will review common symptoms of OCD in youth, examine assessment methods and strategies for differential diagnosis, and discuss current behavioral and medication treatments for pediatric OCD. There will be a focused review of exposure and ritual prevention, which is the front-line behavioral treatment for pediatric OCD.

Three (3) continuing education credits will be offered for PA Social Workers & Licensed Professional Counselors, Psychologists, NBCC Counselors, and Act 48.
