Fifth Annual Cocktails For The Cure Raises More than $20,000
The Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation held its fifth annual Cocktails For The Cure on Friday, April 1 and it’s no joke—350 people attended and more than $20,000 was raised for research to find a cure for retinal blindness.
The title sponsor for Cocktails was 1SEO.com Digital Agency and the event featured a DJ provided by Rock It Entertainment!, live music from the band OWL CAMINO!, as well as raffles, silent auction and a pre-event VIP Hour for those who purchased a special ticket. The VIP Hour featured a meet and greet with representatives from the following organizations:
· Spark Therapeutics—a Philadelphia based pharmaceutical company that is set to be the first in the world to apply to FDA approval for gene therapy to restore vision in blind patients
· 1SEO—a digital marketing agency that provides web design, search engine optimization and other Internet marketing services
· Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania Teen
· Diane Barberian—Blind Ironman Competitor, 2013 TRI68 USA National Paratriathlon Champion, 2014 Half Marathon Visually Impaired National Champion

“The Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation is so grateful to all who have supported us over the years,” said founder Kristin Smedley. “It is because of our many benefactors that we are able to make progress in finding a cure for retinal blindness. This year’s Cocktails was a huge success and I can’t wait for next year’s event.”
Since 2011, Cocktails For The Cure has raised over $80,000. Thanks in part to the funds raised by the Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation, treatments and cures for retinal diseases, such as CRB1, are within reach.
