Global IT Outage Disrupts Bucks Co. 911 Communications Center

IVYLAND BOROUGH, PA —The global IT outage is causing issues for Bucks County's 911 Communications Center.

A widespread Microsoft outage linked to cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike disrupted flights, banks, media outlets, and companies around the world on Friday and highlighted dependence on software from a handful of providers, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Bucks County's 911 Communications Center is also impacted.

All phone systems and radio systems remain operational, and all calls for service from the public are being received and dispatched.

The information is written down manually and then radioed out to first responders, Action News 6 stated.

Bucks County is impacted by the worldwide computer network outage, county officials.

The center has handled outages before.

In January, a cyber attack crippled the system for several hours. It was the second time in a month at the time that the system suffered an outage.
