Fire Chief Chris McDonald told Warminster Township Supervisors at a recent meeting that the fire company started after a big barn fire on Labor Day.

The fire company —one of two in the township —kicked off festivities with an anniversary cake to start the year.

In April, the fire company showcased a new sign outside its York Road building noting 100 years of service from 1923 to 2023.

Hartsville’s past and present members gathered to celebrate the anniversary and uncover its rich history on May 20. A BBQ for members also took place.

On Memorial Day, the fire company marched in the township's annual Memorial Day Parade.

While the company is celebrating its past, it's also looking toward its future.

"For over 100 years, Hartsville Fire Company has been answering emergency calls. Now more than ever, we need volunteers to fill our ranks. If you or someone you know is looking for a new challenge, a way to give back to the community, or a gateway into a career in emergency services or a related industry, contact us," the fire company said in a Facebook post.
