Here’s An Early Look At Fall Forecast For PA

Could it be sweater weather by early fall?

Pennsylvania residents can expect slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures and rainfall amounts just below normal this fall, according to a new seasonal forecast from The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

The fall forecast calls for Pennsylvania and the Atlantic Corridor to be cooler and drier than average in September and October, with temperatures about 1°F below normal along with roughly 1 inch less rainfall than usual.

The Northeast is expected to face cooler and wetter conditions than usual this fall. Below average temperatures are forecast, along with an uptick in precipitation over traditional averages, the Almanac states.

Across the country, the Almanac expects warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the nation’s interior, including the northern Plains, Heartland and Deep South. Cooler conditions are forecast along the Pacific Coast and across much of the eastern United States.

Rainfall is expected to be below normal across much of the country. Wetter-than-usual conditions are forecast along parts of the West Coast, in the central and northern Rockies, in parts of Texas, southern Florida and the Northeast.

The Almanac’s long-range forecasts identify broad temperature and precipitation trends and are not intended to predict the weather on specific days.

Meteorological fall begins Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Astronomical fall begins with the autumnal equinox on Sept. 22.
