Homewood Suites Makes Reading “Ducky” for Pre-schoolers -“Books for Kids” Program Provides Books to Local Schools

Students at Elbow Lane Pre-school in Warrington, Pa. had a “ducky” day on April 23rd when Lewis the Duck and staff members from Homewood Suites of Warrington visited their school to deliver books and read to the students. Lewis the Duck is Homewood Suites’ mascot and ambassador for their “Books for Kids” national initiative. “Books for Kids” provided Elbow Lane students with access to a variety of books to augment their classroom’s reading library.

Through Homewood Suites partnership with “Books for Kids”, a “Lewis the Duck” book series has been created. The series is designed to help children feel more comfortable while someone they love is away. Lewis the Duck, a symbol of a trusted experience, empowers children to follow their instincts and be confident in their decisions.  Hilton hotels across the country hold “Books for Kids”  events in their local communities to empower young children and share Lewis’ love of reading.

To date, more than 70 books have been donated by Homewood Suites through their involvement with “Books for Kids.” So far, Books for Kids Foundation has built more than 60 reading libraries, and with the help of Homewood Suites, will build even more in the years to come.
