IVYLAND, PA —The Ivyland Road Bridge closure —which was expected to begin Monday —has been delayed.

Borough officials said Thursday that the bridge work has been postponed until July 10 to avoid impacting the borough's 150th-anniversary celebration next month.

Mayor Anthony Judice had posted on Facebook that the work was expected to begin Monday, weather permitting, and the bridge was expected to be closed for three to four weeks.

"I told them (the company doing the repairs) that it was imperative the bridge be opened by the 24th of June for the 150th," the mayor said.

The mayor had said that during the construction time period, police could not ticket trucks on Wilson Avenue going to Milton Roy, Reliable, or businesses on Thomas Drive.
