Jackson's Heroes 5K Is Oct. 13 In Warminster

The race and fun run honor the memory of a local 3-year-old who loved superheroes and benefits local swimming lessons.

WARMINSTER, PA — An upcoming 5K and fun run in Warminster encourages participants to don their capes or put on other comic-book regalia to honor the memory of one of the township's littlest superheroes.

The 4th annual Jackson's Heroes 5K and Family Fun Run is set for 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Warminster Park.

Jackson Silas Cole was the 3-year-old son of Andrea, a visual arts teacher at Council Rock, and Jeremy, a Warminster Township Police officer.

"It is our hope that our community will come together in loving support of the Cole family, through this 5k/family fun run event, to show them that although Jackson may no longer be here on Earth with us, he will never ever be forgotten," the event's Facebook page says.

He loved superheroes — often dressing up in a torn-up Spiderman costume or a Hulk outfit. As such, participants in the run are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero for it.
