Local Guitar Teacher Had Sex, Made Child Porn With Runaway Teen: DA

The girl had been a student of his. When she ran away from home, he picked her up, authorities say.

A Hatboro guitar teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with a teenage girl and creating child pornography, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Joseph McGeehan, 52, allegedly picked up a 16-year-old student of his after she ran away from her grandparents’ home in Burlington Township, New Jersey, the DA said.

During a period of five days, McGeehan allegedly had sex with the girl, took nude photos of her, and let her stay in his home, the DA said.

Police, who had been actively searching for the girl since she went missing, found her in a Jeep outside of McGeehan’s home, the DA said.

McGeehan will be charged with unlawful contact with a minor, sexual abuse of a child, and child pornography, among other charges.

He posted bail, which was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is set for March 17.
