Local Therapy Dogs Get Grant for Specialized Vests

Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs received a grant from Foundations Community Partnership to purchase special vests for 60 therapy dogs.

A group of local therapy dogs will be a bit more comfortable, thanks to Foundations Community Partnership in Doylestown.

Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs received a Partnership In Youth Services Grant from Foundations Community Partnership to purchase specialized vests for each of their 60 therapy dogs.

“The vests are designed by Bel Bijoux with the dog’s comfort in mind, durability, and accessibility to young hands to pet the dogs. The grant will also assist the non profit with raising community awareness through website updates and new brochures,” according to an announcement from Roxy Reading Therapy dogs.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Foundation and are thrilled with the opportunities the grant will afford us. Much needed ID vests for the dogs are already in production thanks to FCP’s generosity,” said Roxy Reading President Diane Smith.

Foundations Community Partnership provides financial and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations.

Founded in 2005, Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs is a nonprofit that uses certified emotional therapy dog teams to promote literacy and provide comfort to children.
