Flack, who has served as a vocal music teacher in the district for almost 25 years, transitioned to William Tennent High School in 2012 to lead its musical productions.
Even after retiring from her vocal director position in June 2021, Flack continued to inspire and direct young talent at William Tennent, school officials said.
"What has always driven me to teach and direct is my love of music and my love for the students," Flack said.
Her passion for the arts has left an indelible mark on countless students over the years.
"Hello, Dolly!" holds a special significance as Flack's farewell production.
"I believe that music and musicals give the students a much-needed space to use their creativity, their talent, and their love for theater; but most of all, it gives students a space to be with others who feel just as strongly as they do about the arts. On our stage, they become a family," she said.
Flack expressed gratitude for her team's dedication. Her team of Ajah Krzywonos, Eric Daubert, Terry and Laurie Gillman, and Charlie Kistner will also be retiring with her, along with Al Catarro and Lynne Catarro, retired members of the team.
Flack also highlighted the talented individuals joining her for the final production, including Gina Lenox-Drobish as conductor, Keith Abrahamson as Vocal Director, and Nathan Ross designing the playbill.
"On behalf of the school board and administration, we want to thank Julie Flack for her many years of service to not only our students and staff but the community," Schools Superintendent Dana T. Bedden said. "The arts play a crucial role in education by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence in students. Julie has definitely helped many of our students to develop in those areas."
