New Details Emerge On Manhunt In Lower Bucks Co.
Warminster Township Police give update on how an armed carjacking Tuesday led to a manhunt in Bensalem that was later called off.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —A manhunt was called off in Bensalem Township Tuesday afternoon following an armed carjacking in Warminster Township because there was no second suspect, police said.
The Warminster Township Police Department said that Bensalem Township Police received a radio call at 2:13 p.m. on Tuesday that a vehicle involved in a Warminster robbery was headed east on Street Road towards Bensalem.
A witness observed the black Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed when someone threw an object out of the window at Street Road and Trevose Road, police said.

Police converged in the area where the vehicle was last seen near Street Road and Brookwood Drive.
A short time later, a 911 caller stated that a car matching the description was “ditched” at the intersection of Brown Avenue and Olga Avenue in the Eddington section of Bensalem Township and that two men exited the vehicle and ran.

Police officers responded to the area and found a suspect matching the description on Woodbourne Avenue at Eddington Avenue.
The suspect was detained and transported to the Bensalem Township Police Department.
Through investigation, it was discovered that there was no second subject in the vehicle when it was ditched. The suspect in custody was the only person in the Dodge Charger.
Bensalem Police searched near the train tracks at Street and Trevose Roads, and a cell phone was recovered.
The cell phone was turned over to Warminster Township Police.
Warminster Police Detectives responded to the scene to tow the vehicle and to the Bensalem Township Police Department to interview the suspect taken into custody.
All questions regarding the robbery and identity of any of the subjects involved in this incident should be directed to the Warminster Township Police Department. Bensalem Police will not provide any other information at this time.
