New Playground Christened In Abington

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The children are now swinging on swings, sliding down slides, and basking in the glow of a summer day.

Children are now playing after township officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new playground at Baederwood Park.

Township officials said it had been nearly 20 years since the playground last received significant upgrades.

The project was funded through a Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The event coincided with the Library Pop-Up in the Park event, attended by over 200 community members, officials, and township staff.
