Night Prowler, Thefts From Vehicles Top Warminster Crimes

WARMINSTER, PA —The township continued to see thefts of items from vehicles in the blotter of criminal incidents released by the Warminster Township Police Department for the period of April 2 to April 15.

Here are the criminal incidents:

Public Drunkenness —On April 3, around 10:35 p.m., police responded to the area of Jacksonville and Street roads to check on a man who was reported to be possibly intoxicated. Upon arrival, officers observed the male to be swaying and unsteady on his feet and had a heavy odor of alcohol emanating from their person. The 36-year-old Hatboro man was cited for public drunkenness and given a transport home.

Burglary, Theft, Trespassing, and Related Offenses Arrest —On April 5, at 6:07 a.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of West Countyline Road for a man who was observed walking around the property. The property also had damage to a rear door and it was discovered some items were missing. After completing an investigation, officers charged a 43-year-old Warminster man with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, loitering, prowling at night, and criminal mischief.

Public Drunkenness —On April 6, around 9:27 p.m., police responded to the area of York and Street roads for a possible overdose. A man was found laying in the entranceway of a store. The 30-year-old Hatboro man was evaluated and cited for public drunkenness. The subject was released to a family member who responded to the scene.

Retail Theft Arrest —Officers completed an investigation into a reported retail theft that had occurred at the Wine and Spirits Shop, the actor had left the store prior to police arrival. The 61-year-old Warminster man was identified through investigation and was charged with the theft.

Underage Drinking / Public Drunkenness —On April 7, around 5:55 p.m., police responded to the area of the 800 Block of West Street Road for an incident. After investigating 2 subjects were cited for their actions. The subjects were a 16-year-old male from Warminster and an 18-year-old female from Warminster.

Driving Under the Influence and Related Charges Arrest —On April 10 at 8:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Street Road and Valley Road for a three-vehicle accident. The operator of the striking vehicle left the scene on foot. The operator, a 62-year-old woman from Warrington was located shortly after. The investigation was completed, and the woman was arrested for DUI and related offenses.

Identity Theft and Theft by Deception Arrest —Officers completed an investigation into a report of an attempted theft of merchandise from a business located on Ash Circle. The man allegedly represented himself as an employee of a business that he did not actually work for and attempted to purchase items under that business's account. While the items were being loaded into the subject’s vehicle, an employee determined the man was not actually an employee of the said business and had no authorization to purchase the items under their name. The items were retrieved prior to the man leaving the area. Through investigation, officers identified the suspect and filed charges for Identity Theft and Theft by Deception. The 31-year-old man from Sewaren, N.J., had a warrant issued for his arrest and he ultimately turned himself into the police. The subject was arraigned on the charges and released after bail was set at $20,000 unsecured.

Theft from Vehicle Investigation —On April 12, police took the report of items taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the area of the 100 block of West Street Road.

Theft from Vehicle/Criminal Mischief Investigation —On April 12, police took the report of items taken from a vehicle that was parked in the area of the 100 block of East Street Road. The vehicle also had both windows on the rear driver-side broken out. It is believed entry was made through these broken windows. The theft is believed to have occurred sometime during the overnight hours.

Theft from Vehicles / Criminal Mischief Investigation —On April 13, around 6 a.m., police responded to a business located on the 1400 block of West Street Road for a few vehicles that had reportedly been damaged and had items removed from them. Some of the vehicles had a window smashed out. Police are currently investigating this incident.
