Phase One Of Lions Pride Park's Construction Has Begun
Lions Pride Park to serve all ages & abilities
Lions Pride Park, a partnership between Warrington Township and the Warrington Lions Club, has entered into Phase One of its construction process. Work has begun on Kids Mountain, a state-of-the-art play area fully accessible to people of all abilities. The play area will include swings, slides, climbing towers and rope bridges. Phase One is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“We are extremely pleased with the progress of Phase One of Lion’s Pride Park, as the rain garden is nearing completion,” said Andrew Oles, Warrington Township Parks & Recreation Director. “In addition, it’s great to see how Kids Mountain is starting to take shape. We can’t wait to see all of the pieces of the project fall into place so that our community will have a park for all to enjoy and be proud of.”
Lions Pride Park is located at the former site of Twin Oaks Day Camp. The park will be a state of the art, 17-acre multi-generational family recreation and educational facility for visitors of all ages and all abilities and will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Warrington Township Lions Club is working to raise additional funds for the project. Currently $1.47 million of the $2 million goal has been raised. There are still opportunities for people or businesses to contribute and be a part of this extremely worthwhile community project.
More information on the project and naming opportunities can be found at www.lionspridepark.org
