Hey, Philadelphia Eagles fans…listen up!

No other sports columnist is going to make such a bold prediction. But the Philadelphia Eagles are going to the Super Bowl.

Yes, you heard it right. And yes, you can call me crazy. But it just seems like the stars might be aligning this season.

When the Birds won the Super Bowl against those hated New England Patriots and Tom Brady, no one suspected that Coach Doug Pederson could get them there, especially once quarterback Carson Wentz got injured.

And look what happened. A miracle of all miracles.

This year is different.

This year, the team has made great strides during the off-season to strengthen its weaknesses on both defense and offense.

Give General Manager Howie Roseman Executive of the Year already. He’s earned it!!

Howie has cleaned up his own mess from past drafts and pulled off some trades like a rabbit out of his hat, trades that no one even saw coming

Look at the NFC East.

It’s now one of the weakest divisions in pro football. You can already count the New York Giants and now-named Washington Commanders as good for dead. The Commanders now have Wentz too so that should sink their season.

The schedule seems to favor the team too.

Although if they lose to the Detroit Lions on opening week, I’ll probably rewrite this prediction fast. That’s what we Philadelphia sports fans do - we panic and suddenly go into doom and gloom mode.

As the season starts Sunday, these Birds are ready to take off. Yes, I’m predicting a Super Bowl appearance. Why not?

That’s what makes this season so exciting. And that’s why we’ll be glued to the tube to see if this team can really rise above the expectations.
