PHILADELPHIA, PA —Houston, the Philadelphia Phillies may have a problem.
After a nail-biter that ended when the clock struck midnight, the Phillies Cinderella season may be getting tossed with the bathwater.
The Phillies' magical playoff run may be nearing an end after a tough 3-2 loss where the offense couldn't manufacture many runs. At least it wasn't a no-hitter like Wednesday night's game.

The stars did line up just right with Bryce Harper coming to the plate in the bottom of the 9th inning to offer his heroics, but all he could do was draw a walk. JT Realmuto had a shot at the bat before but an amazing leaping catch at the wall robbed him of a double or a triple.
The inning before, a scorched line drive ended a rally when it was snagged at first base, thus lowering the Phillies' High Hopes.

So this team is now on the brink of elimination, down 3-2 in the World Series to the Houston Astros, where Game 6 is on Saturday.
Friday, a travel day for both clubs, is a day we rest and reflect on the season and this playoff run. We should be grateful that the Phillies got this far since no one gave them a chance and expectations were to get to the playoffs.
The Phillies did that and then some.
The Phillies were undefeated at home during these playoffs but that clock struck twice and now the team has two straight losses heading to Houston where the Astros need one win in two games to win their first World Series since 2017.
Can the Phillies make a comeback?
Can this team find a little extra and dig a little deeper just to find those runs and that defense and that pitching that wins championships?
Can this team search their pockets for a few magic pellets that will have them win both away games as they did earlier in these playoffs?
This team has made some incredible comebacks down in games before. But coming back down in a World Series is a little different.
So Houston, this may be a problem. Or it may be the most magical comeback to cap a magical season.
