Rotary Club of Doylestown Honors Individuals for Community Service at the 7th Annual Four Way Test Awards

Is it the Truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

The Rotary Club of Doylestown honored seven adults and a high school student at the 7th Annual Four Way Test Awards Breakfast at the Doylestown Country Club on April 27, 2016. Honorees included: Dr. Joseph Ohrt—Art and Culture Award; Bob and Pam Byers—Business Award; William “Bill” Lieser—Community Award; Frau Inge Karlberg-Stannik—Education Award; Linda A. Felt—Healthcare Award; and Barbara P. Clark—Not-for-Profit Award. Francesca Crimi, a student at Central Bucks High School West, who will be studying in Taiwan next year as a Rotary exchange student, was honored for writing an essay which addressed an ethical problem using the principles of the Four Way Test.

The Four Way Test asks four questions of the things we think, say or do - Is it the Truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? These questions have been used by Rotary Club members for over sixty years as guidelines for moral and ethical standards in business, community and personal affairs.

According to Doylestown Rotary’s Club President, Bruce Rutherford, “The Four Way Test has been an important guide for how Rotarians live and work,” so we are pleased to honor members of our community based on their service and contribution to the quality of life of the people of Bucks County.”
