Snow Disaster Emergency Declared In Warminster Township
Warminster is preparing for a winter storm this week that could possibly bring up to 18 inches of snow, forecasters said.
WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — The township has declared a "disaster emergency" in the wake of a winter storm this weekend that could bring up to 18 inches of snow.
Township Manager Tom Scott declared the snow emergency on Friday morning.
The snow emergency will be in effect from 6 p.m. on Saturday until 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officials are urging residents to get their cars off the roads so public works crews can plow them easier.
The declaration states that the storm threatens to cause injury, damage, and/or suffering to the persons and property of Warminster Township and could endanger the health, safety, and welfare of a "substantial number" of residents.

The declaration was also enacted to allow Scott to call on resources that exceed the township's standard operations for emergency management measures.
Under the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Services Code, the Warminster Township Emergency Management Director or his representative is directed to coordinate the activities of the emergency response, to take all appropriate action needed to alleviate the effects of this disaster, to aid in the restoration of essential public services, and to take any other emergency response action deemed necessary to respond to this declared emergency as authorized by the Warminster Township emergency operations plan.
