State Rep. Munroe Takes Oath For 2nd Term

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — State Rep. Brian Munroe was sworn in Tuesday for his second two-year term as representative of the 144th Legislative District.

Munroe took the oath of office, administered by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Debra Todd, alongside fellow members of the state House of Representatives in Harrisburg.

Munroe held off Republican challenger Dan McPhillips in the November general election, receiving 20,310 votes to 19,309 votes for McPhillips, Bucks County's Register of Deeds.

“I am excited to continue working on behalf of the people in my district and to collaborate with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to make Pennsylvania a better place for all,” Munroe said. "I look forward to working with both chambers and both parties to address the key issues facing our state.”

The former Warminster Township supervisor is a U.S. Navy veteran and retired police officer.

Munroe said his background has equipped him with the leadership, dedication, and problem-solving skills necessary to represent his constituents effectively.

The race was heated between the two candidates with attacks on who is financially backing McPhillips to questions about Munroe's military discharge.

The 144th Legislative District includes Warminster, Warrington, Ivyland, and part of New Britain Township.
