Tesla Dealership Plans Delayed Until March In Warminster

WARMINSTER, PA —Plans for a Tesla dealership and service center at the old Pathmark property on York Road will have to wait a little longer.

Township supervisors tabled a decision on the conditional use application by Drake Motors for 700 York Road until its meeting on March 2.

Township officials and supervisors did not provide a reason for the delay at its supervisors' meeting last Thursday.

In a two-hour land use public hearing last month before the board last week, Drake Motors representatives outlined how the car company known for its electric vehicles would give the "dilapidated" Pathmark property a "sleek, modern and fresh look."

The property, across the street from Archbishop Wood High School and near Street Road, had been considered by Lidl for another grocery store.

The Tesla dealership and repair garage service center could add 30-40 local jobs, Drake Motors representatives said.

In other township business:

  • Supervisors approved a preliminary land development application on Evergreen Road for Plumstead Manor LLC. Plans call for removing a single-family home on the 20,250-square-foot lot and creating a 3,036-square-foot mixed-use with commercial on the ground floor and apartments on the second floor.
  • After an hour-long hearing, a preliminary land development application for 1250 W. Bristol Road was tabled until the March 2 supervisors meeting so representatives could present full plans to the supervisors.
