Tesla In Talks To Bring Dealership To Warminster
Warminster Township Engineer Craig Kennard said the zoning board may hear the application in January for the dealership and service center.

WARMINSTER, PA —Tesla is in talks with officials about bringing a dealership and service center to the township with construction possibly starting in the spring.
Township Engineer Craig Kennard said that talks are in the preliminary stages with the car company led by CEO Elon Musk which models itself on clean energy and designs and manufactures electric vehicles, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles.
"There are a lot of hurdles," Kennard told Patch before Thursday's supervisors' meeting. "They just submitted a sketch plan."

The dealership would be located across Archbishop Wood High School on York Road and fill the vacant property of the Pathmark, which closed in 2005.
Kennard updated township supervisors about the project during the meeting.

"This just came in," he said.
Kennard said he held an engineering meeting with Tesla representatives on Monday, but the application was submitted directly to the zoning board.
Based on scheduling issues, the zoning board has a full slate in December and might not be able to hold a hearing until January, Kennard said.
"We're going to do everything by the book," he said.
Warminster is home to numerous car dealerships along Street Road.
