Warminster GOP Candidate Steps Down Due To Health
A current board of supervisors member who had not planned to seek re-election will now appear on the ballot in November.
WARMINSTER, PA — A Republican candidate for Warminster's board of supervisors has withdrawn from the election due to health concerns.
David Hauschild was nominated in the May primaries to run for one of two open seats on the board. Dan McPhillips, the board's vice chairman who had decided not to seek re-election, will now appear on the ballot, the Warminster Township Republican Committee announced.
In a statement from the committee, Hauschild said he suffered a life-threatening medical scare last year. He has a maintenance procedure scheduled for August that he says will take longer to recover from then he first thought.

"This election is going to be very, very close and it will be won by those candidates who put the time in and meet the voters at their doorsteps," Hauschild said. "This upcoming election will be vital in charting the future of our community. This procedure will reduce my ability to campaign at the level necessary to win."
Now, McPhillips will join nominee Bob Welsh in seeking the board of supervisor seats for the GOP. They'll face Democrats Kenneth Hayes and Judy Hoover in November.
