Warminster Police Made 56 Narcan Saves In 2017, Chief Says
Overall, 2017 was a "very busy" year for the police department, the chief said in an email update.

Warminster Police made 56 Narcan saves in 2017, according to yearly summary released by police.
In 2017, local police responded to 71 cases of drug or alcohol overdose, but were able to make 56 saves for opioid overdoses. Warminster Police encourage residents seeking help with addiction for themselves or a loved one to come to the police station "anytime of day and we will help get you on the right path to recovery," Chief James Donnelly said in an email update to the community.
Overall, 2017 was a "very busy" year for the police department, Donnelly said. Police responded to a total of 26,347 calls in 2017. There were 5,405 traffic investigations, and made 630 arrests.

The department saw one officer retire but added one new officer to its ranks, keeping the department to staffing level at 44 officers.
The department also laid out some goals for 2018. Among those, Warminster Township Police will be researching the effectiveness of red light cameras on certain local intersections, Donnelly said. Specific intersections have not yet been revealed.

Additionally, the department will continue collaborating with the Friends of Warminster Police K9 in an effort to re-establish its K9 unit. "With the help of House of Representative Bernie O’Neill and the Friends of Warminster Police K9, we should be back to our previous staffing in the future," Donnelly said.
