The triathlon is the major fundraiser for Warrington Cares, raising over $45,000 in the past three years. Funds raised at this race will go primarily towards scholarships for high school graduates in the township, donations to area nonprofit organizations and donations to families in need. This event is a good race for both persons starting out as tri-athletes and those who are training for major triathlons. Timekeeping will be done by DQ Events. If your business would like to sponsor the event, please contact Andy Oles, Director of Parks and Recreation at Aoles@warringtontownship.org.
“Our Triathlon is an exciting event that brings participants back year after year. They really love the course,” said Barry Luber, Warrington Township Manager and President of Warrington Cares. “Whether you are an athlete or like to watch from the sidelines, we invite you to come out on September 8 to be a part of this event.”
About Warrington Cares
In 2014, a group of Warrington Township employees founded and chartered the Warrington Cares Employee Charity. This 501(C)3 tax exempt organization is represented by municipal employees from all departments including police, fire, public works, water/sewer, parks and recreation township office staff. Warrington Cares was created in the power of giving and exists as a means to raise funds for local causes.
All funds raised will be directed towards providing money to local families in need, annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors who reside within Warrington Township, making donations to other nonprofit charities, and contributing to a college fund for Ian Bennett, the son of the late Police Officer Timothy J. Bennett. To learn more, visit www.warringtoncares.org
