WARMINSTER, PA —The Centennial School District started off the new year by celebrating last year.

At the school board's Jan. 10 meeting, Schools Superintendent Dana Bedden presented a 15-minute Year in Review video touting the district's accomplishments for 2022.

He begins the video by discussing how the district has worked over the past years toward reaching the goals of high-performing schools. And while Bedden highlighted the past year, he also is looking ahead to 2023.

"New frontiers continue to be explored and pursued," said Bedden, in concluding the video's introduction.

Bedden said the challenges the district and others faced as a result of the pandemic were significant.

"CSD continued working to meet our mission to build intellect, forge partnerships and engage students to be Future Ready by implementing a coordinated and articulated academic, athletic, and arts program that provides instruction aligned with Pennsylvania Academic Standards," Bedden said in an email to Patch Wednesday. "With all the hard work despite the challenges, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the wonderful successes our students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff have accomplished. So many achievements realized this past year resulted from the work being done despite our challenges during the pandemic."

The 15-minute video is just a snapshot of many wonderful things that occurred in CSD related to academics, athletics, and the arts.

The video shares highlights about:

  1. CSD's continued efforts to use the Nine Characteristics/Building Blocks of Performing Schools. The characteristics have become a framework for school improvement.
  2. PSBA Innovation Teacher Award
  3. 2023 Niche Best School District Award
  4. US News and World Report Best High School Award
  5. Centennial Virtual Learning Academy —More than $1 million cost avoidance to taxpayers and now being featured in an upcoming publication
  6. Partnership with Liberty Urgent/Primary Care —wellness program to support our employees
  7. Partnership with Bucks County Community College
  8. Partnership with Commonwealth University which to date has offered admissions to 29 WTHS students with $288K in scholarship dollars
  9. CSD Middle School Program Improvements (Reimagining Middle School)
