West Trenton Regional Rail Line Delays Expected For Sunday

SEPTA said commutes could be 30 minutes longer Sunday for a train unloading track materials. The Yardley Station is impacted.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Commuters on the West Trenton Regional Rail Line should expect delays of up to 30 minutes Sunday due to a SEPTA maintenance project.

In a letter to Lower Makefield Township Manager David Kratzer, SEPTA said its track department will unload a train carrying continuous welded rail to replace rail on a segment of the West Trenton Regional Rail Line.

The work is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. Sunday. The agency said it needs 10 hours to complete the project.

The work area will be located between Yardley Station and West Trenton Station.

The agency said it that due to its welded rail train delivery, shuttle buses will replace all trains between West Trenton and Woodbourne stations.

Inbound buses will depart West Trenton Station 17 minutes earlier than regularly scheduled train service. Trains will depart five minutes after bus arrival at Woodbourne Station.

Passengers should add about 25-30 minutes to their commute time, SEPTA said.

For Outbound service, the connecting shuttle bus will depart Woodbourne Station five minutes after train arrival. Passengers should add about 25-to-30 minutes to their travel time.

Regional rail service will resume a normal schedule on Monday, March 20.

SEPTA said that changing ridership trends have allowed SEPTA to perform some necessary maintenance projects.

Signage will be posted at all impacted stations, as well as on www.septa.org.
