Jamestown man charged with selling cocaine (timesobserver.com) — A Jamestown, N.Y., man is being held in Warren County Jail after investigators say he sold cocaine multiple times in the Sugar Grove area using a confidential informant. A Youngsville officer working with the state narcotics task force coordinated controlled buys in Warren County before the suspect’s July 30 arrest and seizure of pre-recorded cash.

2. Grand Valley man charged with rape of a child (timesobserver.com) — State Police at Warren have charged a Grand Valley resident with multiple serious felonies involving a child, with a preliminary hearing set for August 19. The man previously received a state prison sentence in 2019 for indecent exposure, and prosecutors then described him as a danger to the community. The new charges again place Warren-area law enforcement and courts at the center of the case.

3. Dose of prevention (timesobserver.com) — Parents in Warren County can now look up school-by-school vaccination rates through a new state online tool, which shows most local schools above 90% for measles, mumps, and rubella. One Warren parochial school falls slightly lower, and a couple of local schools have incomplete data, but officials say the system should help families track protection levels and exemptions.

Four Charged in Death of Care-Dependent Resident in Warren (erienewsnow.com) — A Warren County care facility is at the center of felony charges after four workers were accused of neglecting a dependent resident who was later found dead in extremely poor conditions. State investigators say Medicaid funds were paid for care that allegedly wasn’t provided, and the Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting, while stressing all four defendants remain presumed innocent.
