📰 News we're reading

• SBA relief deadline for flooding last fall approaches (gmtoday.com) — Residents, businesses, and nonprofits in Washington County still recovering from the August 2025 flooding have until June 11 to apply for low-interest SBA disaster loans. AAA expects record travel despite the jump in fuel costs, and offers tips like slowing down, checking tire pressure, and traveling light to stretch each tank a bit further.

• ‘It changed my life' (observer-reporter.com) — Washington County’s specialized veterans court just graduated three local Army veterans who say the strict, two-year program kept them out of prison and helped them rebuild their lives.
